Basically
the Banff National Park is the oldest national park, in Canada established in
1885 in the Rocky Mountains. The park, located
110–180 km (68–110 mi) west of Calgary
in the province of Alberta, encompasses 6,641 km of mountainous terrain, with numerous glaciers
and ice fields,
dense coniferous
forest, and alpine landscapes. It is also one of the World Heritage Site that
has been recognized by the UNESCO. It serves to all kind of visitors which is from
backpackers to group travelers.
THING TO DO HERE
- Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding – this is one of the famous activities being coordinated here and being enjoyed by most of the visitor during the season. Banff National Park, Local ski operations offers world-class skiing and snowboarding amongst the beautiful peaks and valleys of Canada’s flagship national park.
- Dog Sledding – this is also one of the activity being loved by most visitors but to certain extent it is dangerous.
- Cross Country Skiing – its serves best for those who are looking for leisurely ski activities and it is the best way to explore the intimate corners of Canadian Rockies while enjoying the Winter. Lake Louise and Castle Junction areas, access is made easy with an extensive network of trails that are groomed and track-set for world-class cross-country skiing. Additionally, this skiing destination is located just 1.5 hours drive from the Calgary International Airport and is surrounded by the very best in mountain hospitality.
- Snowshoeing and Tubing – these are some activities that usually being loved by kids. Snow tubing is just like tobogganing, except that a unique towing system will pull you back to the top! You’ll also have some pretty epic hills to slide down and large sliding lanes so that you can go down alongside your friends and family. Add some extra fun and give each other points for speed, style and number of spins! Tubing is a great activity for all ages, including children over the age of 4 (or 42 inches tall).
- Hots Springs – this is destination that makes this park very famous till now and it gives the travelers experience the medical qualities of the hot springs by having a dip into mineral waters. This seems to be one of the place for family fun and etc.
- Ice fishing – is a type of activity that were being offered through December till April. One’s will be able catch fishes while relaxing on heated huts on the ice and the guide will be cook the fish caught for us to dine.
