Dear viewers, today we gone take a tour to Beijing, China. We cannot deny the fact that Beijing is definitely one of the most visited cities in the world and the statistic shows that 1 000 000 are coming to this city for the purpose of visiting. Beijing is a city for all seasons and one does can always find something no matter what time we are in Beijing and whatever our interests are. There are actually hundreds of tourist scenic spots and historical sites in Beijing and one of it is the Forbidden City. 




 THE FORBIDDEN CITY ( PALACE MUSEUM)
 
Situated at the city center and called Gu Gong in Chinese, it was the imperial palace for twenty-four emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was first built throughout 14 years during the reign of Emperor Chengzu in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The Palace for the emperor on earth was so called the Purple City. It was forbidden to enter without special permission of the emperor then comes the its name of Forbidden City.


THE SPECIALITY OF THIS CITY

  1. Now known as the Palace Museum, it is to the north of Tiananmen Square. Rectangular in shape, it is the world's largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Surrounded by a 52-meter-wide moat and a 10-meter-high wall are more than 8,700 rooms.
  2. Has been listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987, the Palace Museum is now one of the most popular tourist attractions world-wide. 
  3. It has the history of having million of workers and thousand of artisans to create the city which is full of creativity. 
  4. Yellow colour can be seen widely in this Palace as it shows or reflects the colour of dynasty or royals.

  • Hall of Literary Glory (Wenhuadian) - The building is a shaped structure with a lobby connecting front and back halls. It is the front one, facing south. It was once used as the main hall for the prince.



  • Gate of Heavenly Purity ( Qianqingmen) – is on the central axis that divides the forbidden city into 2 parts which is the inner and the outer. It also serves as the gate to imperial household.

  • Six western palaces (Xiliugong) - a place that was used to accommodate the emperors wives and concubines. The six places has its own uniqueness in term of its building method and creativity such as Palace of queen Consort and more
