AN HISTORICAL VISIT TO - FRANCE


MONT SAINT-MICHEL Normandy, France

Dear viewers, today we gone look after an historical destination located at an island just off the coast of the region of Lower Normandy in northern France and this island was been recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. Basically this rocky island covers almost 247 acres and approximately located one kilometer off the country's north-western coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches.






The specialty of this destination would be, it was best known as the site of the spectacular and well-preserved Norman Benedictine Abbey of St Michel at the peak of the rocky island, surrounded by the winding streets and convoluted architecture of the medieval town. The architecture of Mont Saint-Michel and its bay makes it the third most visited tourist site in France (after the Eiffel Tower and the Château of Versailles), with almost 3.5 million visitors a year. So that it might make your visit to this particular destination much more interesting.

  • Abbey of Mt St Michel it has been an important pilgrimage center for those who are in related beliefs. One’s may visit of the Abbey Church, Cloisters, Refectory, Guest's Hall, Hall of the Grand Pillars, Crypt of St Martin, Ossuary and more
  • The Bay of Mt St Michel It is distinguished by the uncountable distance between high and low tide - up to 15 meters during spring tides. Basically it offers a wide diversity of natural environments, with exceptional fauna, flora and light to its visitors.
  • The Village- visitor may experience the historical monument which has been left by their ancestors during their past. Visitors can take a walk around their Mont which is surrounded by protected gardens and admire a magnificent view of the coast and now the statistic shows there are only 40 residence.
  • Local Delicacies - Restaurant Les Terrasses Poulards where you can taste their local delicacies such as first  l'omelette montoise (puffy omelets), locally raised lamb, seafood platter, mussels with cream.
