MONT SAINT-MICHEL Normandy, France

destination located at an island just off the coast of the region of Lower
Normandy in northern France and this island was been recognized by UNESCO as
World Heritage Site. Basically this rocky island
covers almost 247 acres and approximately located one kilometer off
the country's north-western coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon
River near Avranches.
The specialty of this destination would be, it was best known
as the site of the spectacular and well-preserved Norman Benedictine Abbey of
St Michel at the peak of the rocky island, surrounded by the winding streets
and convoluted architecture of the medieval town. The architecture of Mont
Saint-Michel and its bay makes it the third most visited tourist site in France
(after the Eiffel Tower and the Château of Versailles), with almost
3.5 million visitors a year. So that it might make your visit to this
particular destination much more interesting.
